Metropolitan Police Department's Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit (GLLU)
The Metropolitan Police Department's Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit (GLLU) is staffed by openly gay and lesbian members of the department and their allies. Since its inception in June 2000, the GLLU has dedicated itself to serving the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) communities in the Washington Metropolitan area and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The GLLU is supervised by Brett Parson, an openly gay official on MPDC. In addition to providing 24-hour police response to members of the GLBT communities and the MPD, the GLLU provides a multitude of other vital services.

Potomac Fever is a men’s a cappella ensemble which upholds the highest musical performance standards through the presentation of a diverse repertoire of quality music. Singers are chosen by competitive audition from the ranks of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C. Potomac Fever is supported by the Federal City Performing Arts Association and has a special commitment to community outreach, specifically HIV/AIDS charities and organizations which support and uplift gays and lesbians.

Washington, D.C. metropolitan area's Lesbian and Gay Symphonic Band, Swing Band, Marching Band, and Pep Band. In addition to creating fine music, our goals are to have fun, play with pride, work together, and educate others. As a volunteer community musical organization, we have in our ranks professional musicians, music students, former members of the top military bands, and individuals whose last musical performances date back to their high school or college days.

The Atlantic States Gay Rodeo Association (ASGRA) is a charitable and social organization whose primary purpose is to promote the sport of rodeo and foster country and western lifestyles in the gay and lesbian community. We accomplish this though a variety of events including, rodeo training events for competitors within the Gay Rodeo Circuit, entertainment/fundraiser events produced by our royalty and our annual rodeo Atlantic Stampede.

Since the founding of ASGRA in 1991, the association has raised and distributed thousands of dollars to gay, lesbian, and other local charities in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
